Our company was founded 1951 by Mike Pirrone, a mushroom grower in South East lower Michigan. Rhubarb sales where the company's primary commodity
during the 1950s, with some emphasis on vegetable production.
During the 1960s as rhubarb consumption diminished and rhubarb farms throughout Macomb county became developed rhubarb declined and vegetable
production was increased.
Today, Mike Pirrone Produce continues to market Michigan Hothouse rhubarb as well as over 8,000 acres of vegetable production. ranging from South
East Wisconsin to Western New York and Virginia.
